When fall is the air, the pumpkins are prime for pickin'.   Make it a fun day for the whole family by coming to one of our great family farms to find the perfect pumpkin, enjoy harvest decorations, take a hayride or just savor the beautiful countryside.  Bring the kids, bring the grandparents and bring your camera to catch all the fun!

Pumpkin Hurling is THE new event in the Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins held on Saturday October 3, 2009 at Bartelheimer's Farm east of Snohomish. This unique event features the two-time world championship team, TreBarbaric, along with this year's competitors. All Pumpkin Pitch machines are built by the participating teams and are an incredible sight to watch! Teams use a medieval style of catapult called "trebuchet" to toss an 8-10lb pumpkin over 1866 feet! Go to www.thehurl.org to learn how you can build a trebuchet.

Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Patch is open 7 days a week for pumpkin festivities beginning the last week in September. They have free parking; free wagon rides to the pumpkin patch and corn maze, and your kids can ride in the free trike track of John Deere trikes. This year the maze is in the design of a Hot Air Balloon. Bob came up with the idea because the Hot Air Balloons land in the fields next to the corn maze. If you are lucky you may be able to witness this beautiful experience yourself. The county store will be open for you to browse selling their famous sweet corn, hot cider, pickled veggies, BBQ sauce, and fruit butters. Fresh apples and organic potatoes from local farmers can also be found in Bob's Country Store. New this year Bob has added specialty candies and nuts. The snack wagon is open selling a variety of hot foods, drinks and desserts. Reserve your group for a bonfire in Bob's night corn maze.

Carleton Farm is a fun old fashion farm for the vvhole family. The Corn Maze features the Farm Trivia game to Challenge your navigation skills by finding locations in the maze and solve the puzzle. The Farm offers hay rides, children's wood maze, farm animals and if you ask Farmer Reed, he just might shoot off his pumpkin canon. The farm has a country store that sells fresh vegetables grovvn on the farm, they also sell hanging baskets, jams, jellies, nuts and hot fresh corn on the cob. During the month of October, come visit our Harvest Festival which boasts the title of "Snohomish's first pumpkin patch"! The Farm has delighted families for more than twenty-six years. Nursery rhyme scenes with a harvest twist dot the farm. A 15 acre corn maze offers a fun challenge to kids of all ages and 20 acres of pumpkins. Take a tractor pulled hay ride, visit the farm animals, browse our gift shops and sip an espresso. Don't forget to test your aim at the pumpkin slinger, have your face painted, and try fresh popped kettle corn or one of our other tasty treats available at the snack shack. Stocker Farms is "Pumpkin Central" with acres and acres of pumpkins in all shapes and Sizes. Select your pumpkins from two sites on our farm: Farm Market — open daily with a traditional pumpkin patch and lawn area. Across Highway 9 from the Stocker farm market, the weekend festival field is located with a ten acre pumpkin patch. The festival field includes hay rides, corn crib, trout fishing, face painting, airjumpers, human hamster wheels, pumpkin launching, craft booths and much more. Your little pumpkins under two years old are free. Stocker Farms' 10 acre corn maze is sponsored by Cascade Land Conservatory working to presenre our rural landscape for the next 100 years. The corn maze is open both day and evening for family fun. For the brave of heart Stockers also feature the "Haunted Field of Screams" on select nights. The Farm has over 30 acres of pumpkins as well as gourds, corn stalks and bales of hay for fall decorating. The Farm is home to the Washington State Corn Maze which is a 12 acre maze that looks like a giant map of the State of Washington, there are over 600 signs marking the roads cities and towns that cover our state. The maze is used by teachers all over the region as a teaching tool to help students begin their study of Washington State History and Geography. Visitors who come to the farm also enjoy wagon rides, a petting farm, hay barn maze/slide, a great children's play area which includes a cow train ride and giant covered hayjump, a huge box of dried corn kernels (like a sand box), critter swings and a giant pile of sand with excavators. lf you've never seen our pig show or duck races you owe it to yourself to come out and witness some hilarious farm entertainment. Our Gift shop, concessions, bakery, kettle corn, and espresso will be open on the weekends.
