Welcome to the Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins website!

You will find all the latest events and information for the 2009 Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins.

To start the festivities, the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Hurl was be held at the Bartelheimer's Dairy Farm on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

We watched medieval trebuchets hurl 8 pound pumpkins over 1800 feet.  The world record was "stolen" from the Trebarbaric this year in Belgium.  The new record

is 1919 feet which is over 100 feet further than the Trebarbaric hurled.  But nothing

could compare to watching the 58 feet tall trebuchet be  delivered on a semi truck from Burlington, Washington. The machine took six men, eight hours to assemble for

the Saturday event.  To see the action go to Seattle Times website and click on

VIDEO.

October and the Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins are the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of the Snohomish County countryside and the bounty from our local farms. Search for the perfect pumpkin, enjoy an "a-maze-ing" experience in one of our local cornfields, see farm animals, and delight in a variety of activities for kids of all ages.  Visit all five

farms and see new and different activities at each farm.

On Satuday, October 24, Downtown Snohomish will host a series of fun events such as pumpkin pie eating contest, pumpkin carving, great Pumpkin River Race (win $300 for a $5 investment) , costume parade and many more childrens games.    Please visit our "Events" page for a list of Festival activities or visit www.cityofsnohomish.com.

Bring the children, bring the grandparents, and bring your cameras! Enjoy a wonderful day in the country and experience the hospitality of our local family farms.
